Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka visits the two injured effectives in NATO’s eFP mission in Latvia

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka visited today the two EOD contingent effectives, injured a day earlier by the explosion of some ammunition during military operations in the NATO mission in Latvia.
Minister Xhaçka was closely informed on the health condition of Major Klodian Tanushi, who is at Riga East University Hospital under intensive medical supervision.
Also, Minister Xhaçka visited Sergeant Julian Kapaj, who is currently in Camp Adazi Military Base Hospital in Latvia. His health conditions are very good.

Corporal Zarife Hasanaj falls while on duty

An effective of the Albanian Armed Forces lost her life and two others were injured by the explosion of some ammunition during the combat operations in NATO’s Mission in Latvia.

Corporal Zarife Hasanaj passed away due to the explosion, while the Commander of the Contingent, Major Klodian Tanushi and Sergeant Julian Kapaj were injured. The Albanian contingent serving in the NATO’s Battalion-Size Battle Group in Latvia has the task of disposing ammunition and explosive ordnances.

Minister Olta Xhaçka, homage at the Martyrs of Homeland Cemetery

On the 5 - th of May, Albanian Lidership honored the fallen martyrs in the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War.

The official ceremony held in "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Cemetery was attended by the President of Republic Ilir Meta, Prime Minister Edi Rama as well as by the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka and the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku. The leadership paid homage and placed wreaths near the “Mother Albania” Memorial.

Minister Xhaçka visits USS Aircraft Carrier “Abraham Lincoln”

It has been days that USS Aircraft Carrier “Abraham Lincoln” is conducting naval exercises in the waters of the Adriatic Sea. 

Special guests were the President of the Republic, at the same time Commander in chief of the Albanian Armed Forces Ilir Meta, Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, and representatives of General Staff of the AAF.

Tirana welcomed the 24th Balkan Military Medicine Congress

Two hundred and fifty participants from six member of Balkan Countries have gathered in Tirana for the 24th Congress of Balkan Military Medicine (BMMC), the largest ever organized event in the field of Military Medicine in our country.

The subject of this congress, attended by military doctors from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Turkey, is “The new challenges of Military Medicine”.
