NATO’s Military Intelligence Community meets in Tirana

On 22-23 May 2019, the NATO Military Intelligence Committee (MIC) held one of two annual meetings in Tirana, Albania, hosted by Defence Intelligence and Security Agency (DISA). The meeting was chaired by Colonel Bardhyl Nuredinaj, General Director of the DISA and co-chaired by Mr. Freytag von Loringhoven, NATO’s first Assistant Secretary General for Intelligence and Security, and the head of the Joint Intelligence and Security Division.

Special Forces from three countries participating in “Joni 19” Exercise

The special forces from Albania, Bulgaria and North Macedonia, for about two weeks, were trained jointly at the Pashaliman Maritime Base.
Special effectives from the three countries were trained for water operations, by practicing various topics such as: group diving, underwater walking, and underwater diving under limited visibility conditions, attack from one floating vessel to another, and many other elements.

Petro Koçi: The support of Albanian Government to shaping a clear vision of CIMIC is increased

NATO’s Civil - Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Key Leaders Conference this year was held in Albania and was organized in the premises of the Ministry of Defense. Its purpose is to analyze how CIMIC supports the NATO strategy to combat the emerging threats.
During his speech, Deputy Defense Minister Petro Koçi said that Albania, as a NATO member, appreciates CIMIC as one of the main factors of the Defense Concept and the prevention of future NATO Conflicts

Major General Pedersen meets Deputy Defense Minister Petro Koçi: Appraisal for Albania's Contribution to Security in the Region

Deputy Minister of Defense Petro Koci welcomed in his office, Major General Pedersen, DCOS, Partnership Directorate at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe), who is in Albania within the framework of the CIMIC’s Key Leaders’ Conference.
During this meeting Major General Pedersen expressed appreciation for the role Albania is playing in the security and peace in the region as well as for the engagement of the Albanian Armed Forces in NATO missions.

The training for Black Hawk helicopter begins

Air Force technicians started the training for new “Black Hawk” helicopters by their US colleagues. These helicopters are about to be used by our Armed Forces.
Albanian technicians were acquainted with basic knowledge on flight procedures, which are different from those they work daily with.
The Commander of the American Trainers Unit, who started by training our technicians, explained the character of this training and appreciated the abilities of our Air Force technicians.
