Armed Forces engaged in cleaning up the road axes throughout the country

For about a week, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania are continuing the action of cleaning the territory and making the citizens aware of.

A total of 250 people and 24 vehicles have been engaged until now from the Land Force.

On the other hand, 60 military personnel and 6 vehicles have been engaged from Vau Deja Department on the road axes of Hani Hotit - Shkodër, Murriqan - Baçallëk Bridge and Velipojë – Shëngjin, as well.

Furthermore 50 executives and 6 vehicles from another Land Force Unit have been engaged in cleaning the Qafë Thanë - Përrenjas and Tushemisht - Pogradec road axis.

Armed Forces in action for cleaning up Shkodër - Muriqan road axis

Armed Forces continue to work on cleaning up some of the road and coastal areas for the Tourist Summer Season 2017. Apart from cleaning roads and areas frequented by tourists, this action also aims at raising citizens’ awareness for keeping the environment clean.

Today, the Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koçi closely inspected the action of the Infantry First Battalion's personnel in Vau Dejë, who are continuing their work on cleaning Shkodër - Muriqan road axis.

Deputy Minister Koçi thanked the participating personnel in this action and stressed that the AF has undertaken a cleaning up campaign in the service of its mission to get even closer to the community and serve it as well. "This can also be called a campaign for a clean Albania. A clean Albania with roads clear from litter and trash does not only mean one more chance for tourists to willingly come to Albania; it does not mean that people will enjoy only physical health, because cleanliness is not only physical health but it is also spiritual health", - Deputy Minister Koçi emphasized.

The Armed Forces return to road axes cleaning and sensitizing the citizens

The Armed Forces launched even this year the action for cleaning some road axes and coastal areas for the summer tourist season, 2017. Apart from cleaning the streets and areas frequented by tourists, this action aims to make the citizens aware of keeping the environment clean. 

Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli, closely followed the work of the personnel who are making possible the cleaning of Morina axis and thanked them for all the work done.

Minister Kodheli in the Meetings of NATO Ministers of Defence in Brussels

Defence Minister Mimi Kodheli is attending the Meetings of NATO Ministers of Defence member countries in Brussels. Mrs. Kodheli initially held a multilateral meeting with the Defence Ministers of contributing countries in the Battalion deployed in Latvia. The Minister of Defense of Canada, Harjit Singh Sajjan and Latvian Minister of Defense Raimonds Bergmanis thanked Minister Kodheli for the contribution given by Albania and the commitment in the framework of this initiative. Ministers discussed the need for harmonization and coordination of the strategies and activities of contributing countries in compliance with NATO's objectives. Minister Kodheli thanked host countries, organizers and participants and stated that this contribution will continue during 2018.

The Military Police Contingent back home from Afghanistan

Back to Albania the 5th Contingent of the Albanian Armed Forces, which participated in the Resolute Support Mission in Kabul, where it served for a 6-month period.

At the ceremony organized on this occasion were present the Minister of Defense, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Dedë Prenga, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in our country, Mr. Sinan Cem Baş, commanders of forces, friends and relatives of coming home troops.

Defense Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli expressed the importance of the participation of the Albanian Armed Forces in international missions and stressed that the engagement on such a mission indicates that the Military Police is able to fulfill successfully the duties even in such a front line, which she described as the most violent operations led by NATO. "The success in guaranteeing the security and guarding of allied forces proves the ability and maturity of the well-equipped and well-behaved capabilities of our Military Police. By sweating, sacrificing and succeeding in their preparation and performance, these practitioners showed that they pertain to the elite structures of our Armed Forces. With the participation in this operation, the Military Police expands the spectrum of participation not only in domestic operations, but also in crisis operations across the globe alongside the Allies."
