Minister Kodheli receives her Macedonian counterpart Radmila Shekerinska-Jankovska in an official meeting

Today Minister of Defense, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli received Minister of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Radmila Shekerinska-Jankovska, at a meeting on her first official visit abroad.
At the meeting with her Macedonian counterpart, Defense Minister Mrs.Mimi Kodheli emphasized that bilateral relations between neighboring countries are of a satisfactory level, but there is always place for improvement, especially in the field of security and defense.
		The Armed Forces continue to engage in extinguishing fires in several districts in the country

Albanian Armed Forces intensely continue their engagement in the extinction of fires that have involved some of the districts in the country.. Over the past three days, 267 military forces, as well as 19 vehicles have been engaged in firefighting operations. Meanwhile, only 179 military forces have been engaged in the district of Tirana and 13 vehicles have participated in the extinction of fires in the Mount of Derja near Dajti Mountain, in the pine forest on the hill at Kashari Lake and in the village Ibë and Hekal, the administrative unit of Bërzhitë.
		Armed Forces in cleaning action in Fierza and Koman lakes

Upon the request of the Fierza Hydropower Plant Directorate, the Armed Forces launched an action to clean Fierza and Koman lakes from plastic waste. Minister of Defense, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, accompanied by the Director of Fierza Hydopower plant Ergys Verdho were present in this action.
		Contaminated areas from ammunition in Kordhoca and Picar of Gjirokastra are cleaned

The Armed Forces, in cooperation with the Albanian Mines and Ammunition Coordination Office (AMMCO), the Norwegian People’s Aid humanitarian organization and with the financial support of the United States government, successfully completed the clearance of two hot spots in Kordhocë and Picar of Gjirokastra , which are contaminated with dangerous ammunition.
On the occasion of the completion of the clearance and certification of these areas were present the Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli, Minister of Culture Ms. Mirela Kumbaro in the capacity of the elected deputy of the Gjirokastra district, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Dedë Prenga, Prefect of the Region, Flamur Bime, representatives from the US Embassy and effective specialists who worked on cleaning these areas.

Defence Minister Mimi Kodheli inspected the Armed Forces cleaning up action in the Gjirokastra - Kakavija axis. She is accompanied by the Minister of Culture Mirela Kumbaro and County Prefect Flamur Bime.
In her speech, Minister Kodheli called on citizens and local government to pay special attention to the surrounding environment: "I would humbly seek Albanians entering the territory of Albania for tourism or for other reasons, to treat the country as they treat their homes, throw the waste where it is appropriate. And I have a strong call for local government. It should be more present, at least to support the AF, without saying that it should do its duty."
