Minister Kodheli meets Royal Marines Commandant, Major General Ed Davis

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli met today the Commandant General of Royal Marines, Major General Ed Davis, who is in an official visit in the framework of Albania-UK bilateral relations. At the meeting attended the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo and British Ambassador in Tirana, Mr. Nicholas Cannon. Defence Minister Kodheli praised the support and assistance United Kingdom has given to Albania and Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) in the path of Euro-Atlantic integration, highlighting the fact that this visit is an expression of the growing cooperation between our two armed forces.

Minister Kodheli inspects Armed Forces action for litter collection

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, accompanied by Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, closely inspected the second phase of the Armed Forces’ action for litter collection. Initially, they were stopped at the Morina’s border crossing point, where many military troops were clearing the territory. Further, they have stopped along the road from Marina to Tirana, where Armed Forces troops were engaged and followed the litter collection.

Defence Minister Kodheli official visit to Turkey

The Minister of Defence, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli is in a two-day official visit to Ankara, Turkey, invited by her counterpart, The Minister of Defence of Turkey, Mr. Ismet Yilmaz. At the meeting Minister Kodheli had with the Minister of Defence of Turkey, Mr. Ismet Yilmaz, it was highlighted the excellent level of relations between our two countries, and discussions focused on finding potentialities to further enhance them. The Turkish Defence Minister stated that, Turkey sees Albania as a key partner and its biggest ally. In this context, on behalf of the Turkish government, Mr. Yilmaz assured Minister Kodheli for Turkey’s unquestionable support to Albania for the status of candidate country in EU.

1000 troops and 75 vehicles of the Ministry of Defence engaged for litter collection

Immediately after the decision taken from the inter-ministerial committee to declare the state of emergency for the environment situation, the Ministry of Defence and General Staff of the Armed Forces were engaged in several national roads, mainly in the area of Lezha-Shkodra. In the first hours of the morning, the Armed Forces’ troops were deployed in this area litter collection. Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr. Dritan Hila and the Chief of General Staff, Major General Jeronim Bazo followed the whole clearing process and invited the community to join this initiative.
