This week, Defence Minister Pirro Vengu engaged in pivotal discussions with Dutch Ambassador for Cybersecurity Ernest Noorman, Romanian Ambassador Octavian Şerban, and U.S. military attachés and advisors embedded at the Ministry of Defense. The law for the revitalization of the military industry comes into effect, Minister Vengu visits the Mjekës plant

The new military industry law comes into effect today, setting the stage for the modernization and revitalization of Albania’s legacy industrial capacities.

To mark this significant step, Defence Minister Pirro Vengu, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Defense Dorian Tola, visited the Mjekës plant in Elbasan, symbolizing the start of a new era for the industry. During the visit, Minister Vengu toured the production facilities and was briefed on ongoing operations. He met with the plant’s leadership and workers, stressing the critical need for investment, which the new law will facilitate, to restore the plant as a key part of the nation's military infrastructure.

Successful conclusion to firefighting mission in Albania, minister Vengu expresses gratitude to the European Civil Protection Mechanism and Romania for their assistance

After five days of relentless effort, the mission to extinguish the fires in Albania has been successfully completed. The two Romanian military aircraft, a C-27J Spartan and a C-130 Hercules, deployed under the European Civil Protection Mechanism, played a critical role in combating the flames that threatened some of the most vulnerable areas in the country.
