Today, the Council of Ministers gave the green light to a draft decision aimed at proposing the "For the financing of the arrears of payment of employees and former employees of the Mechanical Combine in Poliçan. Upon finalizing the National Security Strategy Document, the Ministry of Defence has forwarded the Military Strategy and Long-Term Development Plan for consultation. Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, alongside Major General Arben Kingji, Chief of the General Staff of the AF, and a cohort of active-duty and reserve generals, as well as Ministry of Defence directors and force commanders, convened for an extensive roundtable discussion. Minister Peleshi underscored the significance of this dialogue in exchanging perspectives with stakeholders.

A special ceremony in Brussels commemorated the 15th Anniversary of Albania and Croatia's NATO membership, with Defense Minister Niko Peleshi in attendance. In his address, Minister Peleshi emphasized that NATO remains a beacon for democracy, individual freedom, and the rule of law, just as it did 75 years ago.
In his speech, the Minister of Defense emphasized our country's clear support for the alliance, highlighting Albania's efforts over the years to become a valued member among its allies in NATO. He noted that Albania now plays a highly regarded role within the Alliance.

On the occasion of Albania's 15th anniversary of NATO membership, the Land Force Command in Zall Herr held an “Open Day” attended by the President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, Defense Minister Niko Peleshi, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy David Wisner, Chief of the General Staff of the AAF Major General Arben Kingji, ministers, deputies, ambassadors, military attachés, commanders of forces, etc.
Initially, the attendees observed demonstrations by the Land Force and Commando Troops as they visited the Armed Forces stands, showcasing all the equipment and capabilities for defense and security, including tactical, operational, and strategic communication systems.

Fifteen years ago, Albania became a full member of the NATO Alliance. On this anniversary, it continues its mission alongside the USA, allies, and partners to defend peace and security worldwide. By actively participating in international missions with its best Armed Forces members, Albania has joined the Alliance's efforts in facing the security challenges, earning recognition as a respected NATO Ally.
In fulfillment of its obligations to the Alliance, Albania has significantly increased budgetary support for the defense, reaching the objective of 2% of the Gross Domestic Product.
