Fire situation in the Albania

Armed Forces and a Cougar helicopter are working to extinguishing fires in Peshtan, Qafë Shkozë, and Kreshpan village in Cakran Administrative Unit, Fier municipality, under the coordination of the National Civil Defense Agency.

Fire prevention precautions, Peleshi meeting with Prefects and Mayors of the country

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi held a meeting with prefects, mayors and heads of operational structures of the Civil Defense to discuss about fire prevention precautions during summer season.
In the presence of the General Director of the Civil Protection Agency, Haki Çako, and Chief of the General Staff of the AF, Major General Arben Kingji, Minister Peleshi asked for a better work coordination to deal with emergencies at local level.

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi is paying an official visit to United Kingdom. He was received by the Secretary of State for Defense, Ben Wallace.
Mr. Peleshi expressed his gratefulness to the Ministry of Defense of UK for the support given to the Albanian Armed Forces. Meanwhile, Secretary Wallace expressed his readiness for the intensification of this collaboration within the Alliance, but also within the framework of bilateral and regional cooperation.

NATO summit in Vilnius, Albania committed to increasing Defense spending

NATO members gathered on July 11 and 12, in Vilnius, Lithuania, where the situation in Ukraine was discussed. Part of the Albanian delegation, headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, was also Defence Minister Niko Peleshi. During the meetings held with leaders of allied and partner countries, there was emphasized Albania's commitment for the long-term political and practical support of Ukraine, which, upon fulfillment of the conditions, will also become part of the Alliance.

The first results of satellite service were presented today, in an event attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi, heads of various institutions and experts.
Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku said that Albania has managed to monitor 47% of the territory through two satellites "Albania 1" and "Albania 2", launched into space.
