National Security: Minister Peleshi consultation with senior military personnel and experts in the field

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi convened a consultative meeting on national security issues, bringing together various stakeholders, including senior military personnel, association leaders of military personnel in reserve, representatives from the Ministry of Defense and General Staff of the Armed Forces, as well as experts from the AAF Academy and the College of Defense and Security.
The discussions centered on the review of strategic security and defense documents, aligning our capabilities with contemporary challenges within NATO Alliance requirements.
In his address, Minister Niko Peleshi underscored several factors necessitating a review of the National Security Strategy. These include the threat posed by Russian aggression in Ukraine to the Euro-Atlantic area, terrorism, hybrid conflicts, cyber-attacks, and violent extremism.

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi embarked on an official visit to Zagreb, responding to an invitation from Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ivan Anušić. The primary objective of the visit was to bolster bilateral relations between the two countries, with a particular focus on Security and Defense matters. Discussions also encompassed addressing ongoing issues in the Western Balkans region and fostering cooperation within NATO and other regional and international frameworks.

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi accompanied by the Charge d' Affaires of the US Embassy in Tirana David Wisner and the Chief of Defense of Albanian Armed Forces Major General Arben Kingji were at the Farka Air Base, where they watched closely the two Black Hawk helicopters that arrived recently in Albania.
In his speech, Minister Peleshi expressed his gratitude for the support of Albania's strategic partner, the United States of America, evaluating the arrival of two helicopters as one of the most important operational capacities of our country in relation to NATO.
Military Cyber Security Unit is inaugurated

The Military Cyber Security Unit, a structure of the General Staff of the Armed Forces is already operational with the support of the USA, Albania's strategic ally.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, Charge d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Tirana, David Wisner, as well as the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Arben Kingji, participated in the inauguration of this unit that will play a vital role to combating cyber threats and protecting our information systems.
