Albanian Armed Forces at Brussels Marathon

Military representatives of the Albanian Armed Forces honor the country and the national flag wherever they serve in NATO missions or structures across the globe.

This time it was Lieutenant Colonel Roland Shuli, who for the second consecutive year participated in the Brussels Marathon.

Lieutenant Colonel Shuli, who serves in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe participated in this year's marathon together with his daughter Miriam.

The contribution of the Albanian Armed Forces to NATO's "Sea Guardian" mission will continue with the 14th Contingent, departed today from the Port of Durrës to the Aegean Sea. The departure ceremony of the Albanian sailors was attended by the Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koçi, the Deputy Naval Force Commander Captain Artur Meçollari, the Prefect of Durrës Roland Nasto, members of the Fleet as well as family members of the contingent.

Deputy Minister Koci praised the commitment of our sailors to the Aegean Sea as a contribution to the security of Europe and wished good luck to them.

The earthquake of 21st of September, humanitarian aid arrives from Turkey. Koçi: Together on difficult days

Turkey, assisted Albania with humanitarian aids worth of 350,000 Eur, following the earthquake of 21st of September. The trucks with materials arrived at the State Material Reserves Directorate. There were attended by Turkish Ambassador to Albania, His Excellency, Mr. Murat Ahmet Yörük, Defense Deputy Minister Petro Koçi, the Director of Civil Emergency Department Haki Çako.

2nd Infantry Battalion, deployment exercise in Gjirokastra

About 100 vehicles and 320 troops of the 2nd Infantry Battalion (2ndIB) of the Land Force tested the deployment capabilities moving from their base in Zall - Herr to Arshi Lengo, Gjirokastra, within one day.

The main purpose of this training was to enhance the capabilities of the 2nd IB Staff in planning and developing plans for deployments from the Permanent Concentration Area to the Temporary Concentration Area, to fulfill operational tasks in accordance with orders and instructions, regarding combat and non-combat operations.

EU humanitarian aids to assist earthquake affected families, Xhaçka: The collapsed buildings will be rebuilt

14 European Union member states, and 2 non-EU member countries were immediately solidarized to assist Albanian families affected by the earthquake of 21 September 2019.

The donations came to the General Directorate of State Material Reserves at a ceremony attended by the Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, Head of the Delegation of the European Union Luigi Soreca, ambassadors of the contributing countries and directors from Department of Civil Emergencies and General Directorate of State Material Reserves.

Minister Xhaçka thanked the contributing countries for the assistance in this difficult moment and assured the affected citizens for the reconstruction of their dwellings.
