Defence Minister’s speech on the earthquake of 21 September addressed to Albanian Parliament in Plenary Session

Just over a week ago our country was hit by a large-scale seismic event. An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 on the Richter scale shook the citizens, especially in Tirana and Durrës, which were also the most affected areas even though the earth's shaking was felt all over the country and in neighborhood.

New recruits start the Individual Basic Training in Bunavi

133 young men and women started the Basic Individual Training (SIB) at Bunavi Troop School after undergoing physical, psychological and intellectual testing at the Personnel Recruitment Center.
The Basic Individual Exercise Program lasts 10 weeks and is divided into 3 periods: Green, Blue and Red, which is considered the most difficult period.

NATO Mission in Iraq, countries of Adriatic Charter support Albania’s initiative

Albania becomes again the promoter and supporter of peace and security by proposing joint contribution from the US - Adriatic Charter countries (A-5), in the NATO mission in Iraq. A few months after Albania took over the chairmanship of the A-5, Chiefs of Staff of Armed Forces (CHOD) of A-5, gathered in our country at a special conference, and supported the proposal: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia and Montenegro to be part of the NATO Mission in Iraq.

AAF’s response after flooding

The Armed Forces are being involved to cope with the effects of heavy rainfall over the past two days.
Armed Forces troops and vehicles landed in the Valias Administrative Unit, Kamza Municipality, where below-grade areas of residences and businesses were flooded.

The last 24 hours have been very hard for all of us: hours not only of physical but also psychological exhaustion. And I believe that in moments like these it is more important than ever for citizens to be aware of what is happening and to have a clearer picture of the whole situation.
As it has been said several times today, not only in official communications but also in communications with seismologists in the media, the seismic situation seems to have left back its most dangerous moment. It is true that some relatively strong oscillations were recorded yesterday night, but the other 300 oscillations that have been recorded in the last 24 hours have had a decreasing trend, with the majority being below 3 and even below 2 on Richter Scale.
