Praises for minister Xhaçka by the President-elect of the European Commission: Albania a worthy ally

The newly President-elected of European Commission Ursula von der Leyen praises Albania's role in the world's largest military alliance, NATO. During the farewell military tattoo in Berlin, the former Federal Defence Minister, who is newly President-elect of European Commission, announced nominally to the Albania's Defense Minister, Olta Xhaçka, praising her role in Albania and NATO relationship, qualifying our place as a worthy ally.

"I was always full of admiration to see how you worked your way until you were sitting at the NATO table. I am happy that today Albania is a worthy member of the Alliance’’, addressed Mrs. von der Leyen, Minister Xhaçka.

AAF extinguishing the fire in the Kukës industrial area

The troops of Regional Support Detachment in Kukës city made possible the neutralization and the extinguishment of a fire in the suburb of this city, near the cemetery.

The fire in the industrial area, which is supposed to be set intentionally, originally included a pile of debris, and favored by the wind, spread by burning even a bushy surface.

In this operation, the troops of the Regional Support Detachment were also assisted by the Kukës municipality firefighters, who were engaged maximally until the fire was completely extinguished.

Berlin, Minister Xhaçka attends as special guest the farewell ceremony for the newly President-elect of European Commission

Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, on special invitation from the Federal Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, will attend tonight's military tattoo ceremony in Berlin to bidding farewell to the former Federal Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen, who is newly President-elect of European Commission.

The 200-year-old military tattoo, which is the highest military ceremony, and it takes place to honour individuals for their service to the Bundeswehr, will be attended by Chancellor Angela Merkel, personalities and close friends of former Federal Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen.

AAF extinguishing fires in some areas of the country

In the last few days, the Armed Forces have engaged their troops to extinguish three fires in the country.

For three days, the Regional Protection Detachment troops in Gjirokastra have been working on extinguishing a large fire in the village of Goranxi, part of the Dropull i Poshtëm administrative unit in Dropull Municipality.

US Air Force Special Operations Wing trains in Albania

From July 29 to August 5, the operational unit of US Air Force Special Operations Command conducted operations and training flights in the Albanian airspace.

Three “MC-130J Commando II” aircraft and their crews conducted training flights in support of special operations in Europe. US planes and troops were deployed at the military section of Mother Teresa International Airport, where they were visited by the Albanian Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, who was accompanied by US Chargé D’Affaires to Albania, Leyla Moses-Ones, Deputy Commander of the Air Force Colonel Editson Zarka and US Military Attaché Captain James Hilton.
