Xhaçka: NATO, the most reliable shield against any threatening aggression

At the premises of the Special Forces Battalion (bFS), was held today the 6th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony of Captain Feti Vogli, who lost his life six years ago in Afghanistan.

The Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka further in her speech said that the work of the Martyrs is not forgotten, but it will be remembered and will be respected generation after generation and will be evaluated in the future for achieving the objectives.

Recruitments in the Armed Forces, Xhaçka: Improving gender equality a career based on integrity

130 youngsters are the current candidates for officers in the Armed Forces. For the coming nine weeks they will be part of the Individual Basic Training at the Troop School in Bunavi (Vlora). 

At the departing ceremony the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka appraised the increasing number of young women and youngsters with higher education diploma who have applied and have been selected to be part of the Armed Forces.

The Defence Minister assured the newly students and their families that the Ministry of Defence will walk alongside with them in their new path, a beautiful course but full of challenges.

Armed Forces and KSF finish bridge construction in Zëmblak, Xhaçka: It serves to 32 thousand inhabitants

Thousands of inhabitants of the villages of Pojan administrative unit in Maliq and Pustec municipalities will find it easier to move towards Korçë-Bilisht-Kapshtica national axis.

Albanian Armed Forces and Kosovo Security Force (KSF) finished the construction of a "Mabey-Johnson" bridge over Devolli River near Zëmblak village.

The construction of this bridge is provided due to the assistance provided by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for the rehabilitation of damages in infrastructure caused by the floods of December last year, when the existing bridge was also out of order as result of floods.

Stoltenberg-Xhaçka meeting during NATO's ministerial, appreciated the Albaniain contribution to peacekeeping missions

Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka held a special meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during the Meeting of Defence Ministers of NATO member countries held on 14 and 15 February in Brussels.

"I informed the Secretary General about Albania's commitment that within 2024, 2% of Gross Domestic Product will be dedicated to the field of defence, as well as reconfirmed to him the increase of our country's commitment to all NATO and EU missions and in the new national mission such as civil emergencies as well ", - said Minister Xhaçka after the meeting.

CISM international run day at AAF, Xhaçka: Career in AF, as clean as this sports competition

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania joined the armed forces of 135 other member countries on CISM (Conseil International du Sport Militaire/International Military Sports Council) international run day.

Soldiers, NCOs and officers of all the ranks and of all commands, and units of our Armed Forces participated in the "CISM - 2018 Runnig Day" in the Tirana Artificial Lake Hills, which was held in cooperation with Tirana Municipality and the Athletics Federation.

The race took place in two disciplines, 10 km for male runners and 6 km for female runners.
