Armed Forces in the action for cleaning and forestation of Shkodra

The Armed Forces joined in Shkoder the initiative of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, “Cleaning up the Albania we want". 

Along with Minister Blendi Klosi, representatives of the local and young volunteers, the Infantry Battalion's staff at Vau i Dejës have participated in the action for cleaning, rehabilitation and greening in the city of Shkodër.

The Armed Forces helped transport and plant around 5700 seedlings in Tarabosh Mountain, as well as clearing the Buna River bank.

Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi thanked all those who joined the initiative of the institution he leads, as well as called for every citizen to become part of the full forestation of 20 million trees by 2020.

Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu is appointed Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces.

Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu is appointed Deputy Chief of General Staff, becoming the first woman to serve in that high rank in the Albanian Armed Forces. Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Shehu previously served as Commander of the Doctrine and Training Command and replaces Brigadier General Dedë Prenga, who is appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Land Force.

Modernization of the Armed Forces, Xhaçka: Soon, new investments for naval and military bases

The revitalization of military bases across the territory of Albania is expected to be an outstanding potential development in the areas where they have been built. Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka inspected the locations in Shëngjin, Lezha district and Cape of Pal in Durres district, this weekend.

During the inspections, the Minister of Defense emphasized the government's objectives for the next four years with regard to the Armed Forces: "The modernization of the Armed Forces is one of the main priorities not only of the year that has just begun but over the four years. Military bases, such as the one in Shëngjin or Cape of Pal, as well as naval bases have special importance and value for the history of the Armed Forces, moreover for the development and tourism potential of the surrounding areas", said Minister Xhaçka during her visit to the Cape Pal base.

139 new military members in Bonavia to become professional

Since last November, 139 young Albanian soldiers have returned to the Troop School in Bunavia, where they are attending the Advanced Training Course. The young soldiers come from almost all units of the Armed Forces, and they are subject not only to physical training but also theoretical one. Young people in uniform belong to different specialties such as infantry, security, logistics, transportation, engineering, liaisons, military police etc.
