1 thousand military officers are certified by NATO, Xhaçka: Today we are equal among equals

Albania's Armed Forces nowadays have a full-fledged battalion squad, rated according to NATO standards. At the end of a weekly exercise "Albania Lion / Biza 18", attended by over 1 thousand and 200 hundred troops and military vehicles, Group Battalion of Light Infantry was certified as "Combat Ready" (ready for battle), under the monitoring of NATO experts.

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka in her speech, at the end of the training, said that the Albanian Armed Forces have marked a turning point in their history, ranking equal among the equals.

Fires on agricultural lands, Xhaçka: Intentional, punishment and for landowners

The full speech of the Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka in the press release regarding the fires recorded in the last days:
Protection and reduction of CE factors (in this context and fires) is among the priorities of the country's governance. Ministry of Defence and the General Directorate of Civil Emergencies has organized the work with local government structures in order to take measures to cope with the situation of fires during the summer months. The novelty of the measures taken for this work organization, during this year was also the equipment of Cougar helicopters with buckets of water of a capacity of 2500 liters of water each, to extinguish the fires.

Austria, Minister Xhaçka participates in Western Balkans Defense Ministerial: Albania Security Factor in the Region

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka participated in the forum of the Western Balkans Defense Ministerial in the framework of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The meeting, held in Graz (Austria), was an initiative of the Austrian Defense Minister, Mario Kunasek, in the framework of activities organized by the Austrian government on defense priorities.

"Albanian Lion 2018" gathers 1200 servicemen from 4 countries, Xhaçka: Kuçova Air Base, the only NATO base in the Western Balkans

1200 Albanian servicemen and others from Great Britain, Croatia and Kosovo had a drill today in "Mother Teresa" square as a demonstration of physical preparation as well as military means within the “Albanian Lion 2018” exercise. At the ceremony, Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka emphasized the importance of this training.
