Statement of the Ministry of Defense on the incident at Gramsh plant

An incident happened this evening at the Military Plant in Gramsh, three citizens with Russian and Ukrainian passports tried to enter the plant. The soldiers who were guarding the plant reacted immediately, but during the efforts to stop the 3 foreign citizens, two of our soldiers were injured, who are now under supervision and care of doctors at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.

Information on Gramshi Plant event

Around 17:40 today (Saturday, August 20), the shift guard at the Gramsh Military Plant noticed suspicious movements around the facility. He immediately informed the head of the guards that a person entered the territory and tried to take pictures. Both shift soldiers applied military rules in order to detain the person, first calling him to stop. Despite the call of the guard and the plant's security officer, the person tried to leave, but thanks to the quick reaction of the two soldiers, he was detained. At this moment, the escaping person retaliated by using neuroparalyzing spray on the two soldiers, but the two military guards stopped him.
