The year 2022 counts a series of achievements for the Ministry of Defence and Albania Armed Forces. Starting work for the construction of the tactical NATO Air Base in Kuçova and the signing of the satellite service contract in the field of Defence and Security, are just two of the achievements that marked this year. With a government decision, salaries for all Armed Forces military were increased 30%, with the commitment in the state budget for another increase during the coming year.

Government decision on the establishment of the Civil Protection System is approved, Peleshi: investment of 30 million Eur on emergency logistics

niko peleshiToday the government approved the intergovernmental agreement with the Republic of Italy for the establishment of the Civil Protection System. Defense Minister Niko Peleshi stated at the end of the meeting that this is a commitment of Italy from the time of the November 26th, 2019 Earthquake’s Donors Conference, assuring to support the Civil Protection System of Albania with foreign funding of 30 million euros.

"The loan is for the support of the Civil Protection System, which is under the National Agency of Civil Protection (NACP), Ministry of Defense (MoD). It doesn’t belong to an institution, but is extended to the entire territory and in all levels, starting from the local level, municipalities and prefectures. So, almost the entire system is positively affected, and receives financing from this loan of 30 million euros", - explained the Defense Minister, according to which the agreement will go to the Parliament for ratification and then it will be active.

Rainfall situation in our country

According to the data received from the Emergency Response Preparedness and Coordination Directorate, in the Civil Protection Agency, last night rainfalls have caused problems in some regions of the country. The Civil Protection Agency has provided to the municipality of Shkodra high mobility vehicles and water vehicles. A high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle and AAF personnel are engaged in helping the residents in the unit of Ana e Malit, Obot village. Due to heavy rainfall in the last few hours, the main axis of this road has been blocked, making it impassable for small vehicles. Peleshi visits the NATO Supreme Command in Europe: Albania is a reliable ally to the Alliance, ready to make our infrastructure available

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi paid an official visit to the Alliance Supreme Command in Europe. He was received in a meeting by the Supreme Commander of the Alliance for Europe, General Christopher G. Cavoli, at the same time the Commander of the American Command for Europe.

In the meeting they discussed the actual security environment, the challenges on the eastern border of the Alliance, cooperation in the field of defense, our country's commitments within NATO, the strategic partnership with the USA, the development of AAF capacities and modernization.
