Ministry of Defense issues 4 million $ to municipalities for natural disasters

The Ministry of Defense through the Committee for Natural Disaster Management has invited all local government units to apply for the program "Fund for Natural Disaster Management". This fund with a total value of 4 million $ can be benefited by all municipalities which must submit their projects for taking preventive and rehabilitation measures against disasters, damaged infrastructure and other activities in the field of Civil Protection.

Inauguration of the National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies, Peleshi: The first step towards the establishment of a modern Civil Protection system

The National Civil Emergency Operational Center of the National Civil Protection Agency is inaugurated today. It was made possible thanks to a 1 million euro grant from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
In the ceremony held on this occasion, the Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi described this as a very important investment, which brings a different high standard in the service and management of the Civil Protection system in Albania. Defence Minister Peleshi expressed the gratitude of the Albanian people for the commitment of Italy in emergency and critical situations such as the earthquake of 2019, or even during the COVID-19 pandemic:

"Defender 2021", provide aid to the health center of Shën Gjergj after joint training

Shën Gjergj Health Center is equipped with additional kits and medications, thanks to the project of the joint Albanian-American Civil-Military Cooperation team. This donation comes as an act of appreciation of the situation during the joint exercise "Defender 2021". At the donation ceremony, Deputy Defense Minister Dallëndyshe Bici expressed her gratitude to the American counterpart and the European Command, which funded this donation. "This is a first aid kit, but further looking at the needs of this community, I believe that in the future, even with the valuable assistance of the US Embassy, we will have additional support for your community."- she addressed to the locals and employees.

Croatian Defense Minister pays official visit to Albania, Peleshi: No hesitation in integration of Western Balkan

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi received in a special meeting the Defence Minister of the Republic of Croatia Mario Banožić. The visit takes place at a particular moment for both countries, which celebrated the 13th Anniversary of NATO Membership. The two ministers first held a "tête-à-tête" and then a meeting between the two delegations. At the center of the discussions were the excellent relations between the two countries, their contribution within the Alliance as well as the situation created worldwide by the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
