Minister Peleshi receives the Commander of KFOR: We are increasing the contribution of the Albanian Armed Forces in this mission

The Albanian Armed Forces will further increase its troop contribution to the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR.Defence Minister Niko Peleshi received in a courtesy meeting the commander of KFOR, Major General Ferenc Kajári, in the framework of the latter's visit to our country.
After welcoming him, Minister Peleshi thanked Major General Kajári for the leadership shown in this important mission, not only for Kosovo, but for the entire Western Balkans region. He praised the irreplaceable role that KFOR has in creating and maintaining a safe environment, as well as for freedom of movement throughout the territory of Kosovo, but also in the wider region.
Military doctors perform medical checkups in the remote villages of Maliq

Specialist physicians of the Military Medical Unit performed medical checkups for the inhabitants of the remote villages of Maliq.
Military doctors were in the village of Strelcë of the Gore administrative unit in the municipality of Maliq this weekend, where they performed medical visits mainly for the elderly residents of this village.

Two ships of the Albanian Navy have joined the efforts to extinguish the fire on the ferry line, Brindisi- Igoumenitsa, which was engulfed in flames last night at sea. Initially the fire was outside our territorial waters, but now the operation is being carried out in our territorial waters, 5 miles away from Porto Palermo.

On the second day of the Ministerial of Defense in Brussels, the ministers of NATO countries met with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Josep Borell, and the Defense Ministers of Sweden, Finland, Ukraine, and Georgia.
In this session, Minister Peleshi pointed out that Albania has consistently seen NATO-EU cooperation as a key driver in strengthening Security and Defense in Europe and beyond. This cooperation becomes even more vital as we try to prevent the current crisis in Ukraine, which could have implications for the entire European continent.

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi is participating in the two-day meeting of the Defense Ministers of the Alliance countries, which is taking place at the NATO headquarters in Brussels on 16-17 February 2022.
Although the current crisis caused by the deployment of large Russian military forces on the borders of Ukraine has the attention of audiences around the world and is a crucial point after the Cold War, the agenda of this meeting will discuss many other important issues such as: New Strategic Concept; Strengthening the Alliance's deterrence and protection; Defense Expenses; Fair sharing of burden between the Allies; NATO - EU Partnership; etc.
